Rearers

The supply chain

The Gamechanger Farming rearing process has been refined over the last 20 years to ensure that every unit maintains the highest health and welfare standards. The Gamechanger Farming rearing model is based on an ‘all in all out’ batch system, with each batch varying, from a preferable minimum of 120 calves.

Gamechanger Farming provides the calf and covers all input costs, while the rearer provides the infrastructure to rear the calf. Rearers are paid a management fee on a per head basis once the batch has been completed, in addition to a key performance indicator bonus.

Calf collection centres

Gamechanger calves follow a robust health protocol, developed by an independent vet, which includes vaccination against pneumonia and ringworm. The health protocol also ensures that every rearer maintains best practice during the day-to-day management of the calves.
Each rearer is supported by a dedicated calf rearing manager that will aim to visit the unit every three weeks. In addition to this, a young stock vet is available to provide veterinary advice and farm software is provided free of charge to help manage treatments and performance. Being a Gamechanger rearer means that you are part of the Gamechanger Farming community, with opportunities to attend annual training.
Gamechanger Farming’s detailed approach to calf rearing means that Gamechanger Farming finishers will benefit from receiving a weaned 100kg calf at a minimum of 14 weeks of age. Gamechanger Farming calves are guaranteed to deliver:
